So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good.

Difficilmente riconducibile a riferimenti esterni la loro musica ha una propria personalità curata soprattutto dal lavoro vocale di Runhild Gammelsaeter impegnata sia in parti pulite che nel cantato growl che trascina le estenuanti e trascinate ritmiche delle chitarre in un abisso di pesantezza sconfinata. Una vera e propria perla per gli amanti dell’estremo!

It's rare that an album hits me so personally. I come from a family of multiple generations of coal miners, and some of which were involved in the Coal Wars and the protests. Also, as a folk and blackmetal fan, the album feels almost as if it was made for me personally, as a love letter to my family before me, and everyone who lived and struggled in the Appalachian mines. Incredible, beautiful, and special record like none other.
